4-H Livestock Clinic
The Crawford County 4-H Livestock Leaders bring you an event that will enable you to gain knowledge in several areas specific to your market species while participating in hands-on activities presented by professionals from the livestock industry.
Each participant will select a species track of either beef, sheep, goats or swine. Presentations within the species track will only pertain to the species that you selected. Two general sessions will be held to cover basic marketing principles. After all, it is a market project!
Be sure to mark your calendars because you won’t want to miss this event! Registration forms are due April 9, 2010 !
Select a Track that Suits You!
We’ve incorporated species-specific tracks into the program so that you can send your time learning about your particular market species.
All species tracks will work with participants to learn how to treat common ailments of your market animal, build your own first aid kit and to identify the external body parts of your project.
Out species-specific sessions on Management and Maintenance will introduce you to the skills that are necessary for proper livestock care. Students will learn about castration, worming, injections, hoof care and various identification techniques.
Our speakers include veterinarians, education and commercial producers. You are certain to find valuable information from our qualified resources.
